Evolv Technology Selected as American Hospital Association’s Preferred Physical Security Provider

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: EVLV), a leader in AI‑powered weapons detection and security screening systems, today announced it has been selected by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as a Preferred Physical Security Provider for hospitals and health systems. Over 70% of workplace violence takes place in healthcare settings and many hospital leaders are adopting advanced security technology to reduce risk and protect their patients, staff and visitors. Evolv is the only concealed weapons detection provider to be selected for the AHA’s program.

The AHA Preferred Cybersecurity and Risk Provider Program uses a rigorous, multi-step vetting process to identify trusted, high-reputation companies and their solutions for its member hospitals. This process includes an initial vetting, a full review of services by an expert team, and submission of hospital references.

“Evolv has been selected by the AHA as an excellent solution provider for their AI‑powered weapons detection and security screening systems,” said John Riggi, National Advisor for Cybersecurity and Risk at the AHA. “We can confidently recommend Evolv as a reliable source of support for our nation’s hospitals and health systems in their efforts to protect their patients and staff from harm.”

Evolv’s AI‑powered weapons detection systems are designed to help hospitals and health systems address growing safety concerns while maintaining efficient, welcoming environments. Evolv partners with over 500 hospital buildings across North America and screens over 900,000 hospital visitors and staff each day.

“Healthcare leaders are balancing the critical need for safety with the responsibility to preserve patient access and experience,” said Jason Grellner, VP of Healthcare for Evolv Technology. “We are honored to be recognized by the AHA and to support hospitals and health systems nationwide as they work to protect the people who depend on them every day.”

As part of the AHA’s commitment to helping healthcare organizations address the growing threat of hospital violence, the association recently released a Leadership Guide developed in partnership with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis. Its purpose is to provide a comprehensive overview of management approaches and security measures aimed at reducing violence.
